Dear Residents, Families, Volunteers, and Staff:
For over thirty-three years, I aimed to glorify God by taking care of those who cannot take care of themselves. I believe the team and I were able to positively touch lives over the years. I have met thousands of people over those years and have grown to realize how precious it is to build those relationships.
It’s amazing who I have encountered over the years from a General and his wife, who regularly vacationed with the Hemingway’s, a classmate of President Ronald Reagan, and to our neighbors next door whose lives were just as relevant, and stories just as great. The meaningful stories that were shared and the stories that were made will always be remembered. Over those years my staff and I always commented that we should write a book about all the experiences from the funny to the heartfelt moments. The residents, families, volunteers, and staff have all enriched my life which has helped me value relationships even more. I will be stepping down as the Administrator and pursuing other ventures in life and feel blessed to carry with me the memories made at Heartland.
If you are wondering who will be filling my shoes, I’m also happy to announce that we have a very qualified individual who is taking over the reins. A twenty-eight-year veteran Heartland employee, Ellen Strohl who has been the Director of Nurses the past 9 years, will be taking the helm. Please, join me in congratulating Ellen for her new endeavor and promotion.
Thank you all for the wonderful experiences that I have had, and I pray and hope for the best for Heartland Senior Living and the lives that are associated with her.
In God’s Service
John Letizia
Administrator
